Policies
Membership
Enrollment in Columbus Music and Art Academy is for the school year
(from August 23, 2008 to May 30, 2009). Each student is expected to remain active and committed to
the program for the entire school year.
Attendance
- Classes: Students of
Columbus Music and Art Academy must demonstrate a sense of commitment by punctual attendance of classes.
- Choir rehearsals: A member of the Choir may be
excused for legitimate conflicts
by reporting to the Choir Director prior to the start of the rehearsal.
Dress rehearsals before any concert are mandatory.
An absence from a dress rehearsal, for any reason, may result in the
chorister
not singing the corresponding concert.
- Choir performances: Attendance
is required at all
scheduled performances. At the beginning of the performance season
Choristers must
submit a written schedule of conflicts, if any, to the Choir Director.
In
addition, last-minute conflicts should be reported by email or calling
to the Choir
Director. Prior to each event, Choristers will receive information by
email containing
details of the event, such as call times, uniform dress and directions.
Tuition
- A non-refundable annual registration fee of $20 per child is due at the time of registration.
- The registration fee is waived for returning students who register on or before May 3, 2008, and pay full tuition on or before May 10, 2008.
- The cost of all 1-hr classes is $350 per year. The cost of all 1.5-hr classes is $380 per year. The tuition does not include the registration fee.
- The full tuition for returning students is due on or before June 16, 2008.
- New students may enroll throughout the year. The tuition will be prorated for students who enrolled after the beginning of the school year.
- All registered students who haven't paid full tuition upon registration will receive an invoice by email.
- Different payment plans are available for students who receive free or reduced-cost lunch at school.
Credits and Discounts
- Second class discount: Students who register for more than one class pay full tuition for one class and receive a 10% discount for all additional classes.
- Siblings discount: The second child receives a 10% discount
for all classes. Additional children receive a 50% discount for all classes.
- Referral credit: Students receive a $25 credit
towards tuition for each referral that results in enrollment of a new
student.
Other Fees
- A $20 late charge will be added if payment is not made by the due
date.
- A $25 charge will be applied to all returned checks.
- Additional fees may be imposed for choir tours, uniforms, and special
events.
Refunds
Prorated tuition refunds will be given to students who quit the
academy due to documented health problems or move outside Central
Ohio.
