2012 Central Ohio Singing Competition

Rules and Info

Age eligibility is determined on the date of competition.

Registration deadline was extended until March 21, 2012. Registration form must be postmarked by March 21, 2012, and mailed to Columbus Music and Art Academy with a registration fee of $25.
By March 25 each contestant will be notified by email of the exact time of their audition. If you don't hear from us by March 25, 2012, call us at 614-789-9392 or email to Columbus Music and Art Academy.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Northwest Blvd., Columbus, OH 43212

Competition will be closed to public.
All contestants will perform one song in front of a panel of professional judges.
All songs are to be performed from memory.
Songs may be sung a capella (no accompaniment) or with an accompanist. Be sure to bring a CD or an accompanist (piano is available).
Songs must be appropriate at discretion of judges. Profanity, etc. will not be permitted.
Songs must be no longer than 3 minutes.
All participants will get written comments from the judges.
The judges will select 3 winners in each age division.
The judges' decisions are final.
Top 3 winners in each age division will be awarded trophies.
All other contestants will receive certificates of participation or honorable mention.
To participate in the competition you must be available at any of the following time periods: March 30, 2012, from 5 - 8 pm; March 31, 2012, 9 am - 2 pm; April 1, 2012, 1 pm - 6 pm.
If selected 1st place winner, you must be available on May 6 to participate in the Spring Concert of the Columbus International Children’s Choir on May 6, 2012, at 7:00 pm or else your place and prizes will be given to next place recipient.

First, second, and third places and honorable mentions in each age category will sing at the Winner's Performance on May 12, 2012, at 5:00 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Northwest Blvd., Columbus, OH 43212. It is open for public. The Awards Ceremony will follow immediately after the Winner's Performance.
In addition, top winners in all three divisions are invited to perform during the Spring Concert of the Columbus International Children’s Choir on May 6, 2012, at 7:00 pm. The concert will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 10700 Liberty Rd., Powell, OH 43065.
